About this Course

For over 40 years, this internationally respected program has been continually developed and refined to meet the personal and professional Yogic needs of our participants. Its purpose goes beyond training a person to be a Yoga teacher; it provides a wide reaching foundation preparing trainees to develop their knowledge of Yoga. Complete instruction on how to teach an Integral Yoga® Level I class is the vehicle.

Considerable attention is given to the many aspects of Yoga so that all graduates have both a practical and a philosophical understanding of the full scope of Yoga teachings and practices.

“Yoga” means “union” in the ancient Sanskrit language. It is a perfect description of the Integral Yoga® system which synthesizes the various branches of Yoga into a comprehensive lifestyle system. The aim is to promote the harmonious development of every aspect of the individual. The results are subtle, profound, and measurable.

The six branches of Integral Yoga are powerful tools to encourage wellness and self-mastery. Teacher trainees will refine and deepen their personal practices based on an exploration of:

  • Hatha Yoga (physical postures)
  • Raja Yoga (psychology of mind)
  • Karma Yoga (selfless service)
  • Bhakti Yoga (devotion)
  • Jñana Yoga (self-analysis)
  • Japa Yoga (mantra repetition)

We believe in fostering an equitable environment and creating a collective community care experience. Along with the Integral Yoga® system of Hatha Yoga, this program utilizes life changing systems from various contemporary teachings like those communicated by Michelle Cassandra Johnson’s Skill in Action “Radicalizing Your Yoga Practice to Create a Just World.”

Why choose IYINY for this life changing experience?
